Re-Orient Museum

The Piscina Mirabilis is monumental: 70 m long, 25 m wide, 15 m high — 12,000 cubic metres of water capacity in the Augustan age, and today, emptied, closer to a temple than a tank. The museum concept breathes life into it with light and sound rather than construction.

Piscina Mirabilis có quy mô đồ sộ: dài 70 m, rộng 25 m, cao 15 m, sức chứa 12,000 mét khối nước dưới thời Augustus. Giờ đây, khi đã cạn, nơi này giống một ngôi đền hơn là một bể chứa. Ý tưởng bảo tàng thổi sức sống vào công trình bằng ánh sáng và âm thanh, thay vì xây dựng thêm.

The lighting design tells the story of flowing water and marine life — jellyfish installations drift beneath the vaults, projections simulate a water surface overhead, and 3D-printed luminous plants line the glass pathways. The scheme embraces the depth and height of the structure while preserving its textured, timeworn surfaces as a tribute to its history.

Thiết kế chiếu sáng kể câu chuyện của dòng nước và sinh vật biển: những tác phẩm sắp đặt hình sứa lơ lửng dưới vòm cuốn, hình chiếu mô phỏng mặt nước trên đầu, cây phát sáng in 3D viền dọc lối đi bằng kính. Giải pháp tôn lên chiều sâu và chiều cao của công trình, đồng thời giữ nguyên những bề mặt thô ráp, nhuốm màu thời gian — như một lời tri ân gửi tới lịch sử nơi đây.
